The apparitions of Our Lady of Fátima took place in Portugal in 1917, where the Virgin Mary appeared to the three shepherd children—Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. She urgently called for conversion, prayer, and penance, and asked in particular for the daily recitation of the Rosary for peace in the world and the conversion of sinners. At the same time, she foretold severe trials, yet promised the ultimate victory of her Immaculate Heart and offered hope and comfort to the faithful.
