The color concept of white and gold refers to the papal colors and the liturgical symbolism of purity and dignity.

The centerpiece depicts Pope Pius X, who served from 1903 to 1914. He is known for his clear theological orientation and for reforms, especially those concerning canon law, the catechism, and the liturgy. He promoted daily communion and advocated for greater participation of the faithful in the Eucharist. With the encyclical Pascendi dominici gregis and the anti-modernist oath, he resolutely opposed the influence of modernism in the Church. He was canonized as early as 1954.
